Who has to take hygiene training?

All employees who come into contact with food and consumer goods, including kitchen, cleaning and service staff, must be trained in infection protection at regular intervals. When new employees are hired, they must be trained before starting work, especially seasonal and temporary workers.

If you (or your employees) work in a relevant area without appropriate training, this can lead to fines and even withdrawal of your operating license. You can also face further civil and criminal consequences if you are found guilty of negligent bodily harm because you (or your employees) were not trained as required. So don't take any chances. The training can be completed online in a short time and you will meet your legal requirements.

What is the difference between initial and follow-up instruction?

According to German law, every person who first carries out an activity in the food sector, catering or exhibition trade requires instruction and certification in accordance with Section 43 Paragraph 1 of the Infection Protection Act. If this instruction has never been carried out before, it must be carried out for the first time by the responsible health authority or an authorized doctor. In such a case, you will need an INITIAL INSTRUCTION.

FOLLOW-UP TRAINING is required every two years after the initial training. This can usually be carried out within a company by an authorized person.

How long is the instruction valid? When do I have to complete a follow-up instruction?

The initial instruction is valid for life, provided that the activity is started within 3 months of receiving the initial instruction and that follow-up instruction is given at least every 2 years.

Why is the certificate always in German?

You can take the course in various languages. The certificate is a document that must always be issued in German, as it must be presented to your employer and, upon request, to the authorities.

How does the instruction work?

You can follow our instruction from the comfort of your own home or on your mobile device. You can book your training and pay directly online via our website. Afterwards, you will receive a link to the training video and a written summary of the content as a PDF. After the video, we have some review questions for you to answer. Don't worry, if you get something wrong, you can simply repeat the questions.
As soon as you have answered the questions correctly, we ask you to upload your ID. This is required by law in Germany so that we can check the documents. We will then check that you have completed the training correctly and send you your certificate as a PDF.

How and when do I receive my certificate?

After ordering, you will receive the necessary documents for the course and the training video. After successfully completing the exam questions and uploading your ID document, we will check your data.

Since this has to be done manually, the review can take up to 48 hours. However, we usually send the documents within one working day.

Unfortunately, we cannot speed up this process and therefore ask you to refrain from asking whether the certificate can be issued at shorter notice.

Why do I have to upload my ID document?

The infection protection instruction according to §§ 42, 43 IfSG is an official certificate. We must therefore ensure that the certificate is issued to you personally. Therefore, uploading the document is necessary.

You can upload your ID card or passport. You can also upload ID cards from abroad with a photo. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to accept alternative documents such as a driver's license or other documents with a photo.

I didn't receive an email with the documents/certificate, what now?

If you have not received any email(s) from us, please first check your SPAM folder, you will usually find it there. If this is not the case, please contact us at info@belehrung-ifsg.de
If you made a typo when entering your email address, we can easily correct it for you afterwards.

I noticed that I answered questions incorrectly. What can I do?

If you have answered questions incorrectly, you have the opportunity to answer the questions again in the video. As soon as you have answered all the questions correctly, you will receive your certificate.

The certificate has an error, what now?

Unfortunately, typos sometimes occur when issuing certificates. Write us an email with the correct information to info@belehrung-ifsg.de - we will correct the certificate immediately and resend it to you.

I lost my certificate

Have you lost your certificate? That can happen. Write us an email with your personal details to: info@belehrung-ifsg.de. We will send you a replacement certificate immediately.
